Jonathan Scott Frakes is an American actor, director, and producer who voiced his head in a jar in "Where No Fan Has Gone Before". He is best known for his roles as William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation and as David Xanatos in the 1990s cartoon series Gargoyles. Outside of those, he has had roles as Stanley Hazard in North and South, Marcus Marshal in the short-lived soap opera Bare Essence, and has guest starred in television shows like The Waltons, Charlie's Angels, and Matlock. He is also a prolific director, working on the Star Trek films First Contact and Insurrection and directing TV shows such as TNG, Roswell, Leverage, Burn Notice, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
